'Faux Book' setEntry/Object ID
BG-2024.0143Description
Milton Bradley patterned this lightweight but sturdy folding set on the the hoary "faux book" backgammon sets of the 1800's which purportedly disguised the dice game from Victorian-era disapprobation. The decorative trim is more of a Nouveau style than 1931 art deco, and it is unknown whether these M-B sets pre-dated the backgammon craze that ignited in 1930.Made/Created
