Description

This rather deluxe booklet has a graphically stylish cover printed on heavy, textured stock. It begins with a dedication to "the spirit of sport and to the game of Ancient Kings' while presenting the game in its "modernized variations of chouette and doubling. One might expect an R.H. Macy publication to bear a date or copyright, but it appears that the text is actually a direct crib, set in new type, of 'Modernized Backgammon' by W.C. Horn & Co. One indication is that the board diagrams appear a bit more 'inky' here than in the Horn booklet. Another is that one erroneous rule is corrected with an annotation printed in red ink.
