Full Name
Harold ThorneRole
Backgammon PlayerPerson Description
Harold Thorne was an influential writer on both backgammon and Bridge in the early 1930's. His treatise 'Backgammon in 20 Minutes' went through two revisions and seven printings in the space of just two months. Thorne also demonstrated an entrepreneurial flair, attempting to patent a style of squared-off checkers prized by collectors today and marketing a (somewhat impractical) backgammon score pad. Thorne promoted all of these initiatives via lectures.
