Cabinet card of Myrtle Ruth Vance [1899-1901] - daughter of Jacob Vance and Minnie King. Handwritten inscription on reverse of image reads, "Myrtle Ruth Vance / aged 10 mo." and below that reads, "George & Jessie." The latter inscription likely indicates that the photo was to be given to the child's uncle and aunt, George Birch Vance [1870-1928] and Jessie Dell (McFarland) Vance [1868-1935], in whose family collection it is archived. Original, photographer stamp cut off. Vance-McFarland Album 04, Photo 13.

The Mary (Vance) McCann Collection was passed from George Birch Vance [1870-1928] and Jessie Dell (McFarland) Vance [1868-1935] with the ownership of their home in Mapletown, Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, to their daughter, Mary (Vance) McCann [1898-1987], and her husband, Marshall Albert McCann [1895-1956]. Mary (Vance) McCann left the collection to her grandson, William Marshall Miller, who owned and shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2023.
