Description

Postcard of Walton Hall, a women's dormitory on the Waynesburg College campus, in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. Built to be a women's dormitory, Walton Hall was leased from Waynesburg College to serve as a hospital from 1921 - 1937 (see G. Wayne Smith, History of Greene County, Pennsylvania, pages 822 and 978). Prior to that period, the Blair Hotel and a house in town were among the local buildings used as hospitals. During World War II, Walton Hall was one of several places in Waynesburg that housed Air Crew cadets who trained at Waynesburg College and the Waynesburg Airport. Original, printed by W. T. Hays.
