2018.6.121Description
John William Wiles and his wife, Ella Elizabeth (Rush) Wiles. They were married 4 December 1890 in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
A handwritten notation on the back of the photo says, “Mrs Ella Jacobs from your friend Mrs Ella Wiles.”
“Mrs Ella Jacobs” is most likely Eleanor Ann (Kent) Jacobs [1832-1902] whose family lived next door to the Rushes in the 1880 Census of Marion Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Ella Elizabeth Rush was a daughter of Margaret Ann (Rush) Clayton, and a granddaughter of John Rush and Christina Thomas. Ella remarried on 26 February 1904 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to Joseph M. Bowers. The marriage license identifies her as Ella E. Wiles and notes her as divorced.

Jacobs-Kent Series - Helen Mae (Jacobs) Fonner CollectionNotes
The Jacobs-Kent Series probably began with Eleanor Ann (Kent) Jacobs [1832-1902], wife of Henry Moore Jacobs, and daughter of David Kent & Elizabeth Barnes. Eleanor's photographs were passed to her son Joseph Warren Jacobs [1868-1947] to his daughter Helen Mae (Jacobs) Fonner [1922-1999] to her daughter Anna (Fonner) Blystone who with her husband, George Blystone, owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2005.
