The Sarah Margaret (Varner) Closser Collection photographs were passed from Joseph Varner [1828-1896] and his wife, Elizabeth Jane Kennedy, to their son James Leander Varner [1858-1952] and his wife, Laura Dell Wilson [1870-1949], to their son Arleigh Ray Varner [1888-1986] and his wife, Lida May Smith [1890-1981], to their daughter Sarah Margaret Varner, wife of Ernest Ray Closser Jr. [1923-1976], who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2006.
