John Witherspoon Scott [1800-1892] - husband of Mary Potts Neal, son of George McElroy Scott & Anna Rea. John Witherspoon Scott was the father-in-law of U. S. President Benjamin Harrison and passed away while living with the First Family at the White House. Inscribed: "Christmas, 1891. / New Year, 1892. / Greeting and loving regard from your old friend, / J. W. Scott.” Original, no photographer listed.
