BACKGROUND: William F. Bradley was born in County Donegal, Ireland, probably between 1807-1809 (there is conflicting evidence regarding his exact birth date, though this record lists August 1807). John Bradley was born 10 May 1819 aboard ship traveling across the Atlantic Ocean. The Bradley family arrived in Philadelphia on 20 July 1819. The brothers filed their declarations of intention for U.S. citizenship together at the Greene County, Pennsylvania Courthouse on 30 September 1840.
