The Cotterrel Series was passed through the Doverspike-Cotterrel extended family, ultimately being given to Lila Shirey, who worked with relatives to identify and rehome the images. In 2011, a selection of the photographs associated with Greene County, Pennsylvania, were given to Candice Lynn Buchanan who owned and shared the pictures with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2016.
