William Darryl Call [1887-1948].
William D. Call was a son of Robert H. Call and Hannah Lewis, of Oak Forest, Greene County, Pensylvania. William, his brother Guy Lewis Call [1882-1947], and his cousin, Charles Call [1883-1916], all came to Yolo County, California, in the first decade of the twentieth century. William married Nellie Call, a Yolo County native. Charles Call served in the U.S. Army ambulance corps on the border with Mexico and was murdered by a Mexican gang. Asa W. and Mary Elizabeth (Call) Morris were aunt and uncle to these three men.

The Morris-Call Series photographs and research notes were compiled by Lynne Gough (descendant of the Morris and Call families of Greene County) while doing research for her children’s book, Asa and the Holstein Queen. Each photograph includes an explanation of its provenance. The images and related history were shared by Lynne with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2016.
