Description

Carte-de-Visite photograph. There is a mark on the back side where a tax stamp had likely been. Other photographs in the album bear 3 cent tax stamps indicating that they date to the Civil War, probably between 1 August 1864 and 1 March 1865 during the time when a tax stamp higher than one cent was used. Original, no photographer listed.
