A poem attached to the photograph reads: "1732 / Ye College Class of nineteen-nine / Ye highe-bredde Junior Classe, in fine, / Begge a kinde favour of yr grace, --- / To stoppe yr coach at College Place, / Where, should ye lifte the friendly latch, / Ye'll find in 'powder, puffs and patch' / Their /manlye strength' and 'mayden's bloome,' / Assembled in ye olde booke-roome. / Date, February twenty-second, / At 'early candle-light,' tis reckoned. / 1908."
