Portrait of Abraham Armstrong [1770-1848], reported to be the first European born on Muddy Creek in Greene County, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Ruth (Conwell) Armstrong [1774-1866], and son of John Armstrong & Mary Kennedy. Abraham Armstrong was a brother to William Armstrong whose descendants own the original portrait.

The Rhoda Frances (Crago) Brady Collection was passed from William Armstrong [1780-1861] and his wife, Elizabeth Russell [1776-1864], to their son Alfred T. Armstrong [1807-1878] and his wife, Helen Mary Davidson [1815-1892], to their daughter Margaret M. Armstrong [1859-1901] and her husband, William C. Elliott [1848-1920], to their daughter Anna Mary Elliott [1883-1974] and her husband, James Thoburn Crago [1882-1940], to their daughter Rhoda Frances (Crago) Brady who owned and with Marta Burns shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2007.
