Description

Jacob H. Bristor [1855-1936] and believed to be his sister, Elizabeth (Bristor) Sibert [1866-1946] - children of George Bristor and Susan Gray. Handwritten inscription on reverse of image reads, "Jake Bristor and Lib Bristor." Jacob left Greene County, Pennsylvania, as a young man. It is believed that this photograph was taken on a return visit. His younger sister, Elizabeth, did not marry until 1897, and was likely still living at home with their parents at the time. The Bristor family has shared a later image of Jacob with his wife, Eliza Jane (O'Connor) Bristor, which confirms his identity as the man in this picture, while also demonstrating that Eliza is not the woman photographed. Original, professional photograph from Rogers, Waynesburgh, Pa.
