Description

Carte-de-visite of Martha M. (Swan) Rice [1820-1899] - wife of Enoch George Rice. The carte-de-visite of her husband, Enoch George Rice [1819-1880], by the same photographer, probably originally filled the empty spot next to her photograph in the album (see item # MILB-AN001-0006-0036). That image is now loose in the collection. Identified by comparison to item # RICE-AN001-0002-0003. Original, professional photograph from Walt A. Smith, Photographer, Newark, O. Vance-McFarland Album 03, Photo 14.
