Dated August 1861, Athens, Ohio. Dr. Thomas West Sparrow and his wife, Lydia Ann (Weethee) Sparrow. Margaret Leonice Needham, Laura Weethee, and Lydia Weethee were the first three women to receive male-equivalent bachelor's degrees from Waynesburg College, graduating 23 September 1857, as identified in: Annual Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Waynesburg College for the Academic Year Ending September 1857. A note attached to the photo reads: "Doctor & Mrs. Sparrow (Lydia Weethee) / Athens. O. Aug. 1861. She was my / dearest chum and classmate at Waynesburg / Pa. When last heard from she lived in / Toronto Canada // Sep. 6, 1906." Original, no photographer listed.

The Margaret Leonice (Needham) Still Collection was passed from Margaret Leonice (Needham) Still [1838-1912] to her daughter, Cricket (Still) Tubbs [1866-1955], to her daughter, Bonnie (Tubbs) Watts [1906-1985], to her daughter, Bonnie (Watts) Cook, who owned and, with researchers John and Betty Hartman, shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2006.
