Description

Tintype photograph believed to be John R. Patton [1822-1881] - husband of Anna Adelia Brown, son of Joseph Patton & Esther Paxton. This image had been identified as John R. Patton's son John Houston Patton [1850-1910]; however, analysis of the photograph dates it to circa 1862-1867 when John Houston Patton would have been just a teen. It is possible that John Houston Patton's name was associated with the photograph as its owner rather than its subject.
