Numbered on the original image are the following:
1) Hanna Hall (Waynesburg College), built 1850. Still standing on Waynesburg University campus.
2) Huss House, home of David Rittenhouse Porter Huss Sr. and his wife, Mary Jane (Lantz) Huss. Later the location of the Gymnasium, Waynesburg University.
3) Grist Mill. Later the location of Stewart Hall, Waynesburg University.
4) Union School, later North Ward, built 1864.* Later the location of Stover Hall parking lot, Waynesburg University.
*In front of Union School, the tombstones of the Commons Cemetery are clearly visible. This cemetery was abandoned in the later 1870s to make room for Monument Park. Many graves were removed to Green Mount Cemetery, which had been established in 1853. However, there is no doubt that some graves remain in this area of the modern-day parks.Collection
