Scope and Content

The Jacobs Family Bible Series includes the original family data pages from two Jacobs Family Bibles. Altogether, the Jacobs Family Bible Records span the years 1826-1942. The two Bibles are as follows: (1) The Leroy and Louie A. (Stewart) Jacobs Family Bible has been preserved intact. Holy Bible, Holman's edition (Philadelphia: A. J. Holman & Co., 1887). (2) Original family data pages, separated from the Family Bible of Leroy's paternal grandparents, Alexander and Eliza Jane (Huffman) Jacobs, have been preserved loosely in-between the family data pages of Leroy's Bible. No title page data from the older Bible has been preserved. The Leroy and Louie A. (Stewart) Jacobs Family Bible, including the family data pages of the Alexander and Eliza Jane (Huffman) Jacobs Family Bible, was passed from Cora Edith (Jacobs) Smith [1894-1977], to her son Fred Leroy Smith, to his niece Sharon Roxane (Smith) Palone, who owned and shared the Bible with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2010.
