Office and staff of the Waynesburg Messenger newspaper outside of their office in the Messenger Building in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. The Messenger Building still stands on the corner of High and Washington Streets. This view appears to be on the Washington Street side of the building. At the foot of the stairs is John Flenniken Pauley Sr. [1858-1929] and above him with the beard is his father William Thompson Hays Pauley [1820-1897]. Original, no photographer listed.

The Pauley-Thompson Album once belonged to the family of John Flenniken Pauley [1858-1929] and his wife, Margaret Virginia Thompson [1855-1937]. The album was found in a building set for demolition and was donated to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E. Greene St., PO Box 547; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370). Shared with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2007.
