Believed to be Caroline Amelia (Edmonds) Weaver [1846-1923] - mother of Charles Arthur Weaver [1870-1945] who married Mary Inghram (Denny) Weaver [1891-1972]. Handwritten inscription on reverse of image reads, "Arthur Weaver's mother / 1st woman to graduate / from [Rush] Medical School in Chicago." The word "Rush" is written in a more modern ink as though inserted later. We have been unable to verify this educational information. Historical records for Caroline Amelia (Edmonds) Weaver [1846-1923] do not indicate she received an advanced education. Research continues. Original, no photographer listed.

The Josephine Denny Collection was passed from Eleazer Luse Denny [1865-1910] and his wife, Louise (Inghram) Denny [1867-1956], to their daughters, Mary Inghram (Denny) Weaver [1891-1972], Josephine Denny [1893-1992], and Helen (Denny) Howard [1896-1981]. Josephine Denny passed the collection to Farley Toothman who owned and shared it with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project between 2004 and 2025.
