"DEATH REMOVES EX-JUDGE JAMES INGHRAM, DEAN OF GREENE COUNTY LAWYERS
Aged Jurist Passes Away at Home Here After Illness of Several Months; Served Two Terms on Bench.
Hon. James Inghram, aged 85 years, former president judge of the Greene county courts and ranked as one of the most able lawyers and jurists in Western Pennsylvania, died shortly after 3 o'clock Saturday morning, October 29, 1927, at his home in West High street. Mr. Inghram was a lifelong resident of Waynesburg and his death removes one of the community's leading citizens, one who has given much to the advancement of religious, civic, educational and social affairs. Mr. Inghram had been in failing health for the past few years and his condition had been critical for three weeks prior to his death.

James Inghram was born September 12, 1842, in Waynesbug, the fourth son of the late Dr. Arthur Inghram, one of Waynesburg's earliest practicing physicians, and Elizabeth Cather Inghram, deceased. The Inghram family came to Greene county from Virginia and were among the early settlers in this county. The Cather family came to Greene county from Maryland. After attending the Waynesburg public [schools], Mr. Inghram entered Waynesburg College at the age of 12 years and was graduated in the class of 1859 at the age of 17 years. "DEATH OF ALEXANDER K. W. HAIL
The scion of two families eminent in the missionary annals of Japan died suddenly on June 24. He was Alexander K. W. Hail, aged eighteen, son of Mrs. Harriet Wycoff Hail and of the late Rev. John F. Hail who was killed by a volcano in Japan 15 years ago.
John E. Hail was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. A. D. Hail of the Presbyterian Mission in Japan. Alexander's mother was the daughter of Dr. Wycoff of the Dutch Reformed Mission. Alexander was the only son of his mother, who made her home in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, for the education of her three daughters and Alexander. The boy was active in athletics, and an unusual favorite with the young people. His classmates sang at the funeral on Monday, June 27, in the Swathmore Presbyterian Church, the hymn that was sung at his father's funeral in Japan - "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go." Dr. Winn of the Japan Mission assisted the pastor of the church, Rev. John E. Tuttle, D. D., in the funeral services."Collection
