Name/Title

1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II

Description

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II was produced from 1959-1962. A total of 2,716 were made. It is equipped with a 6.2 liter V8, which was the first modern V8 engine, that produced 30% more horsepower than the preceding straight-six engine. Even though this car weighs 4,640 pounds, it can go from 0-60 mph in 10.9 seconds and had a top speed of 113 mph. Additionally, it has a four-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and a wheelbase of 123". Customers could also choose between a fixed head and drop head coupe version. Multiple color options were available, and even though the museum's Silver Cloud II appears to be black, it is actually a very dark green. Our Museum's founder, George McEvoy, purchased this vehicle in England and reportedly drove it off the factory lot. Afterwards, it was shipped to the US.
