Context

Valentine works with offset printing, creating multilayered, perhaps abstract compositions built on references and graphic elements from commercial advertisements, desktop publishing, or Internet culture. These references almost disappear, overtaken by vibrant, abstract hues that recall painterly gestures. In some cases, he creates collages from units or cut-ups of his prints.
