Slated is a series of nine lithographs by nine
different artists in memory of Ed Pashke,
an influential Chicago Imagist, remembered
fondly for his great abilities to teach and
mentor other artists as well as for his willingness
to collaborate.
“From the moment an artist births creativity
into the world, their ideas are transformed
through the eyes and minds of others.
Whether we are willing to admit it or not, the
ideas of others serve as steady soil from
which something entirely new can sprout.
We need each other and art needs art.
For me, Slated represents the impact of artists
who believe in this type of collective art, who
believe in sharing and growing together.
It shows that when an artist like Pashke passes
on, there is so much left alive. The afterlife of
an artist is the life that remains in another.”
