Context

There is a material relationship between Kettner and Mott's work, each combining seemingly disparate practices of drawing and ceramics, steeped in their own lineages and associations. In the exhibition from which this work was acquired, Motts work exemplified drawing proper, and Kettner's work interpreted drawing through the use of her line in object: the inflexible ceramic and the flexible thread traced around its form.
