Born in 1945 in Sopot, Poland, Andrzej Dudzinski studied architecture, interior design and graphic arts at the Gdansk University of Technology and the Gdansk State College of Visual Arts. Dudzinski would study under Henryk Tomaszewski, the father of the Polish Poster School at the Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw.
In the 1970’s Dudzinski lived in London where his work was featured in the periodicals Ink, Oz, Frendz,and Time Out. He would return to Poland and become famous for his signature cartoon bird Dudi, whose nonconforming thoughts he published in satirical weekly, Szpilki. Dudzinski’s artistic oeuvre includes children’s books, film and television, as well as many film and theater posters. Dudzinski liquidated his New York Studio in 2007 and donated his archives to the Hoover InstitutionAcquisition
