Description

A sepia toned expressionist profile view of a human skull on dark background, with traces of pink brain matter visible on the side of the skull and a crown formed of bone, this was a promotional poster for a 1971 theater production of Hamlet that was adapted for television and aired of September 20, 1971, as part of the Television Festival of Stage Theater. The inscription of "zamek ksiqzat pomorskick - szczecin 1971” translates to The Pomeranian Duke’s Castle, which was converted into a Provincial Cultural Center after being destroyed in World War II and has hosted many important arts events in Szczecin.
