From Free Land for Free Men "In 1888 Friedrich, Frank Busch, Sr., Joseph Witzig, William White and a man named Frazier formed a partnership and opened a furniture factory in the old mill plant. The business, however, was short-lived. the flood of 1890 swept down the Valley. High water lasted so long that row boats were the only means of transportation. The water did much damage, ruining the dry kiln. The partners decided to dissolve their business. Of the considerable amount of furniture they had salvaged, Frank Busch took his share of the partnership in furniture." - By Vera Martin Lynch
