Oregon Pony, first steam locomotive in Northwest. November, 1950. Newspaper clipping on back reads: Pony Ride- The Oregon Pony, first locomotive on Pacific Coast, was hoisted by crane to its mounting in front of Union station Monday after exhibition at Vancouver celebration and repointing, repars at ?? and S shops. Locomotive portaged freight between Bonneville and Cascade Locks in 1862-63 on old portage railroad between Columbia river boat landings.
