"Mr. Barlow lived here with 2nd wife, former (?) Mrs. Shepherd - Mother of Mrs. Geo. Jerome and Howard Shepherd who married Martha Washington Allen daughter of Dr. Allen and Martha Ann Allen.
William Hedges bought property in 1888 or 1889 - lived there until 1903 - Sold to Lawrence May who sold to Spencers - Both Hedges children were born in house - Evelyn in 1890 and Ruth in 1894. House was built in 1852 is still standing on back lot.
Walnut tree was one planted by William Barlow.
This picture was taken about 1913. Large trees back of house are in front of Wilkinson (sp?) Property."
