Summary: Wheels of locomotive and skates both equipped with tapered roller bearing
Direct quote: "Exemplifying the latest development in railroad travel is this pretty roller skater as she stands beside the new streamliner 'No. 6100,' largest high speed locomotive ever built and the pride of American railroads, now on exhibition at the railways exhibit of the New York World's fair. Like the skates she wears, the giant wheels of the 526-ton colossus are equipped with tapered roller bearings, and innovation which is bringing a new riding comfort to rail travel that railroad men already have nicknamed 'the streamline glide.' The jolting starts and stops and the hazard of 'hot boxes' are eliminated by the bearings, while many operating economies are effected for the railroads. Ten years of research at the Timken plant in Canton, Ohio, were required to develop an alloy steel tough enough to withstand the enormous pressure of huge locomotives and cars."
