Ukiyo-e woodcut of the Edo period, Japan by Utagawa Kunisada. Kunisada was the most prolific and admired of printmakers during this period. This print depicts the male actor Nakamura Kajaku (seen in the mirror behind the main figure) as a female character. The corners show evidence of water damage but in otherwise good condition. Known by many names, including Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Utagawa Toyokuni III.
