Scope and Content

Marshall Prado, a lifelong Montauk resident, was born at Southampton Hospital in 1946 to Marshall and Eleanor (formerly McDonald) Prado. He grew up in the Lower Shepherds Neck area of Montauk in one of the Carl Fisher era English Tudor houses. He attended Montauk Public School and East Hampton High School. Following high school, Marshall was drafted into the army and stationed in Heidelberg Germany from 1968 to 1970. His father, Marshall Prado Sr., moved to Montauk in the 1920s to work as Carl Fisher’s chauffer and opened a mechanic shop and gas station in Montauk. When Marshall returned from the army he went on to run Marshall & Sons with his father and brothers, a family business that is still in operation and has expanded to include other services such as plumbing and heating. Marshall and his wife Linda met in Montauk, and married in 1985. They have two daughters Dana and Briana.
