Note

Inscription reads: This is a photograph taken in 1956 of Peggy Murphy Connery. She is standing next to the statue of the Native American woman who once stood on the edge of the cliffs just south of what is now the Rheinstein Estate park. this is also a view of the house that used to be there. The windmill, which can be seen in part, was later moved to land owned by Peter Beard. The house burned and fell into ruin, for years portions of its cellar could be seen embedded in the eroding cliffs. The smaller picture shows some of the piping that used to jut out as well. The north side of the cellar has long since fallen away - as has the piping. Just think of the enormity of the erosion of those cliffs! (As a point of added information, she is wearing clothes that she had borrowed from her sister without her knowledge).
