A vast collection of Long Island Fisherman (later titled Fisherman) weekly magazine dating from 1971 through 1988, with one issue from 1993. The magazine was founded in 1966 as The Long Island Saltwater Fisherman by Rich Reina. The publication grew to include four regional variations. The collection in the Montauk Library focuses on the Long Island region, with many issues covering saltwater fishing in Montauk. Magazines include writing, photographs, illustrations, cartoons, tide tables, and advertisements. The collection is near complete and may be of interest for both recreational and research purposes. In addition to covering sport and recreational fishing, the magazines capture issues affecting access, fisheries management, and conservation.Archive Details
