A B/W photographic view of an unidentified house in Harpswell. Marked on the back,
"Col. Daniel Curtis(?).
Bethel Point, East Harpswell. Burned in 1971 when it was owned by Mrs. Harold (Susan) Pulsifer and occupied by son, David, and wife and children.
Col Curtis (see Harpswell in the Am. Revolution by W.S.T. pg 16, has an SA.R. marker in Cranberry Horn Cemetery. He was born in 1979, a Tabitha Raymond 1748 dau Paul Raymond. Col. Curtis died Feb 20, 1782 while on one of his sea voyages.
His Capt. Daniel Curtis lived on his father's homestead 1768-1842
Another son, William Curtis, gave Curtis Memorial Library , Brunswick

Simon Leavitt bought this house in 1874, the year Mrs. Deering was born. She says Stephen Curtis lived there. He married (2) Charles Deering, and sold that house and one across road where she and first husband, (Fred Orr drowned) lived, tp Mrs. Harold Pulsifer.
A man by name of Abel Holbrook, she says, lived in Curtis house with his stepson.Collection
