Parade, 150th Anniversary of BrunswickEntry/Object ID
1973.6.2Description
A sepia-toned photo of the parade for the celebration of Brunswick's 150th Anniversary traveling up a road. There are two floats visible--one with many rugs on it in the foreground and another unidentified one in the distance. Between the floats are several men on horseback. The parade may be passing by the south side of the First Parish Church (on the left) on the Bath Road but it is difficult to make a positive ID of the building. On the reverse of the photo is written "R.A. Toothaker." Dated June 13, 1889.
A calvalcade of 20 horsemen in neat white caps inscribed Dennison Company escorted the two floats. and were a striking feature of the procession. A banner telling the progress of the business was borne by the horsemen.Collection
