Isaac Warren Starbird was born in Litchfield, ME, 10 Jul 1839. He received his A.B. from Bowdoin College in 1862. He was commissioned a Captain in Co. F. 19th Maine Volunteers in August 1862, promoted to Major, Lt. Col. and Col.in 1864, and to Brevet Brigadier-General in 1865. After the war he received a Master's degree from Bowdoin in 1865 and was a Portland merchant from 1865-75. He attended medical school at Bowdoin in 1877 and received his M.D. from Dartmouth in 1878. He practiced medicine in Portland, Richmond, and Boston from 1878 to 1895 and was a surgeon at the Chelsea, MA soldier's home from 1895-1905. He and his wife, Emma, had two children, Grace G. and Edward P. Isaac died in Boston 2 Feb 1907. Photo not dated.
