Description

A Navy dirigible at BNAS in 1944. This K types airship from NAS Lakehurst, N.J. was used at BNAS to train ground crews. Teams of men pull on rope on either side of the dirigible. According to blimp expert at Maine Maritime Museum, the blimp is post-war class, vintage circa 1955-1960. (6 February, 1996)
