B/W photograph of Florence Hessel, Brunswick police matron, demonstrating how Evangeline Cooper, the wife of Lancelot Cooper, a welder at Bath Iron Works, was found with her hands tied and a scarf over her face, the day Lancelot Cooper was killed. She claimed that an intruder had stabbed her husband to death, when she, in fact, did. The photograph was taken in the old Town Hall on Maine Street in Brunswick. The murder took place on January 18, 1951.
