A photograph of William Albion Moody about 1900 - 1910. William was born July 31, 1859 or 1860 in Kennebunkport, ME. He graduated from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME in 1882 where he distinguished himself by taking the Smyth mathematical prize. He was a Teacher 1882-84, Tutor of Math 1884-87, Instructor 1887-88, Professor 1888-1907, Harvard Student 1900-01, Wing Professor Math 1907-26, Acting Pres. 1924-5, and in 1926 Professor Moody withdrew from active service and became Professor Emeritus, the first Professor to receive that title at Bowdoin College since Professor Upham fifty-nine years before. He died February 2, 1947. Photo not dated.
