Name/Title

1904.xx.xx Old Faithful Inn, Cup and Saucer

Description

This blue willow patterned coffee cup and saucer was produced by Enoch Wedgwood & Company Limited, circa 1904 (precise dating is difficult). The hand written inscriptions on bottom of the pieces ties them to the restaurant located in the Old Faithful Inn. The inscription on the bottom of the plate reads: "Old Faithful Inn" Yellow Stone Pk. Wyoming. The inscription on bottom of the cup reads: "Old Faithful Inn". The cup also bears an under glaze marking of the number 3 in green, likely a factory form number. Note: The Enoch Wedgwood company is not to be confused with the more famous Josiah Wedgwood company; the latter did not use "& Company" to mark their pottery.
