Pulled out nails in the book. Wrapped cords with Japanese paper strips. Humidified loose leaves locally at crease, then flattened the leaves. Used Japanese paper strips as hinges. Applied starch paste on the strips and the leaves. Assembled the hinges and leaves, then put leaves in blotting sandwich and let it dry. Mended teas using Japanese paper strips and paste. Applied some starch paste on hinges and attached leave to the joint of text block.Acute Treatment

Pared a piece of leather for the outer join of the book. Opened a slot between leather and front board. Applied starch paste on leather strip. Also applied paste to leather inside lifted spine. Tacked leather trip into the slot of the front board and lifted spine.Acute Treatment

Wrapped book with bandage and Hollytex. Opened and age to check on spine. Starch paste did not adhere properly. Used leather glue to reattach. Attached fly leaf and closed join with starch paste. Wrapped book again.
