Treatment Notes

Filled losses with Armenian Red Clay bole to bring up to level with paint surface -- Didn't work. Flaked like dry mud. Used Golden Sandable Gesso (White) to fill losses until level with paint layer. Sanded as needed with foam sandpaper in locking tweezers. Base paint coat is gesso tinted with Golden Red Oxide to match red color on mask. Gesso surface dries too gritty/rough.

Treatment Notes

Trying Flugger next. First leveling gesso layers, scraping with xacto knife applying a barrier layer of B-72 to bare wood on lower left jaw and then applying two layers Flugger to chin and right jaw. Thinned Flugger with distilled water as a brushable consistency. Continued fills and painting in gold and black. Filled with modostuc and finished painting.
