"Dear Rose,—This is called Norman's Woe, but by rights it is Rafe's chasm. Norman's Woe is wear the wreck of the Hesperus occurred. The cross indicates where a girl fell in & her body was never recovered as it is supposed to be bottomless. Phew! that gives one cold chills behind the ear.
