Three U.S. Navy launch boats dock at T-Wharf during one of the annual visits the North Atlantic Squadron made to Rockport around 1906. The excitement generated by these arrivals is reflected in the great crowd of civilians at the wharf, many turned in fashionable clothes and parasols. Homes along the south edge of the harbor are also visible in some detail. The sign at right, which reads "“Naval Y.M.C.A. at the Town Hall - Men of the Squadron Welcome," is also visible in Item #2026.013.163.
The inscription on the front dates the scene to the summer of 1906.Postcard Details
