[Submarine in Gloucester Harbor]Entry/Object ID
2026.013.131Description
A submarine moves along Gloucester Harbor with crew members and a dory visible on deck. The profile appears to be a match for a B-Class submarine, and is possibly the USS Tarantula, launched in Quincy MA in 1907. While at first resembling Smith Cove, the location may be deeper in the inner harbor, perhaps photographed from a vantage point on Five Pound Island. The triangular building just to the right of center is the Gloucester Salt Fish Co.Postcard Details
