Rhoon, 13 mei 1988
Dear mr Enrico,
This is a response to your letter of May 3. I'm counting down the days until the day I can leave for Pianello. We leave on July 6 and will most likely arrive in Pianello on July 8.
We have planned a trip to Verona with the children halfway through July. We will attend an AIDA performance in the Arena. Almost every day I listen to AIDA's highlights on the cassette recorder in the car.
Did I tell you that I visited Tehran in the first week of March, just as Iraqi ballistic missile attacks on Tehran began for the first time? I was happy to leave that country. I feel sorry for the poor ladies, who are thrown back in time as if they were living the Middle Ages.
Then the family went on a week's skiing holiday at Easter to Klosters, Switzerland, not far from Pianello.
At work it seems that I am busier than in previous years. Two of my experienced assistants have been transferred. Now I have to report a lot more myself. I don't have anyone to delegate the chores.
Floris and Reinoud long for Lake Como in combination with lots of wind and a surfboard.
You've seen them as little kids, but today they're like adults, but they're still kids. As usual, Vera is busy with many things at the same time.
When I sing her praises, I need a lot of paper to record it
My special regards to Madame Maria and from all of us,
we wish you a good jorney to Greece.
Love to every one in the family, Adriaam
